Unemployment Quest

Inspiration, Resources, and Things I like:

Programs I used while creating Unemployment Quest:

RPG Maker VX Ace (if you want to try it out, I'd appreciate using this link.)

Korg DS-10+

Nanoloop 1.5

While making the game, I heard an interview with game designer Anna Anthropy on the radio. After listening to it, I bought her book, Rise of the Videogame Zinesters. I found the message, advocating amateur game creation to be really inspiring. I was thinking of this game as something akin to zines or DIY record labels and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks games can be personal creations of all kinds of people.

I also want to give a shout-out to Go Bunny Books. The book "You Can Do It, Bunny" is drawn from the same vien of inspiration as Unemployment Quest. I love that my generation is not taking a terrible economy lying down.
